On the Radar: Diversity at MinterEllison
Diversity at MinterEllison
At MinterEllison, we thrive on the fact that the world and the market is changing, and know that the diverse needs of our clients are best met through a diverse and inclusive workforce. At MinterEllison, diversity and inclusiveness are at the core of our values. It is about who we are and how we work – with our clients and with each other.
We believe diversity is about creating a high-performance culture that values individual contribution, teamwork, innovation and productivity regardless of background, ethnicity, disability, gender, faith, sexual orientation, family structures and any other dimensions of difference. Diversity and inclusiveness are at the core of our values and we firmly believe our people should be able to bring their whole self to work. We are committed to leveraging the advantage of a diverse and inclusive workforce and actively promote an inclusive work culture through our Empower Program, our Pride Respect & Inclusion at MinterEllison (PRiME) network as well as numerous internal training sessions and related resources.
At MinterEllison we are committed to creating an inclusive, high performing culture that leverages the diversity of our people to deliver innovative solutions and a distinctive client experience to be our clients’ best partner. We know that workplaces that leverage diversity through a culture of inclusion are higher performing – they build stronger connections with clients and have an enhanced ability to deliver innovative solutions that reflect the diverse needs of our clients. We are looking for our people to not only be role models internally, but also role models on diversity and inclusion for the wider professional network.
In working to become our clients best partner, we have reviewed our strategies, upgraded our systems, redesigned our structure and reframed how we approach talent management. Further to that we have identified business acumen as the core skill that acts as a point of differentiation from our competitors and refreshed the way we lead our people and the initiatives we invest in to inspire them. Our longstanding focus has been on gender equality, the advancement of women to Partnership, and building the female leadership talent pipeline. For FY16 almost 60% of
all senior appointments were women. The current gender split at our Partnership and Board level requires ongoing commitment and focus to attract and retain high potential female talent that inspire our people and clients. Our broader inclusion strategy is being shaped by programs of work focussed on driving culture and behavioural change to create a workplace where diversity and inclusion are part of our DNA – just what we do.
MinterEllison was awarded a WGEA Employer of Choice for Gender Equality in 2014, 2015, and 2016.
