How to: Motivate yourself to smash out the rest of the semester

It’s hard to come back to uni after a super relaxing mid-semester break, particularly when there is only 3 weeks left in the semester. The finishing line seems like it’s right in sight but also so far away at the same time. It’s often hard to find the motivation to keep going and smash through those final assessments and exams.

We’ve got you covered with our top 3 tips for staying motivated to smash out the remainder of the semester!

  1. Count down the days

Count. Down. The. Days. Whether you want to download a countdown app on your phone or cross off the days in your calendar, count down the days until your finishing date. But also try and take everything one day at a time in these final weeks. It’s easy to get overwhelmed with final due dates and exams looming. Simply, focus on what you can achieve today.

  1. Set a goal

It’s hard to stay motivated if you don’t know what you’re working so hard for. Set some goals for the marks you want to achieve for your final assignments or exams. Whether you just want to pass that subject you find super hard or score an A in a subject you love, set a goal that is personal to you.

  1. Have something to look forward to

Speaking of motivation, you’re more likely to smash out the remainder of the semester if you have something to look forward to once the year is over. So starting thinking about something to reward yourself with once you finish the semester. Buy tickets to that music festival you want to go to, book yourself a holiday, line up an awesome summer internship in your dream job or plan to meet up with your friends you never get to see when uni is running.

The good news is the end is definitely in sight!

Smash. It. Out.
