Commercial Careers Series 2018
The La Trobe Law Students’ Association proudly presents the first annual Commercial Careers Series (April 17th-May 18th; Week 6-10). As a result of student feedback, we have spread career events over a longer timeframe in 2018 to ensure student attendance can be maximised.
The Commercial Careers Series encompasses the following information sessions/presentation:
- A series of seminars by top and mid-tier commercial law firms, presenting everything you need to know about applying for seasonal clerkships. Firms will focus on what is required in the application process and what they will be looking for in future seasonal clerks and graduates. It is the perfect opportunity to find out more about the firms you might be applying for and hear first hand experiences from graduates or specialists in their field.
- Practical legal training information sessions
- Career planning workshops/information sessions for early year students. These will include a mix of HR representatives from firms, the Law Institute of Victoria Young Lawyers section, academics and also experts from the La Trobe Careers Centre.
- Networking and CV writing workshops
- Clerkship Success Panel
- Careers Cocktail Night
Please note that all sessions will be catered!
